Charcoal fines briquetting requires a binder to be mixed with the charcoal fines, the roller press is used for forming the mixtures into briquettes with certain shape such as oval shape, pillow shape, etc. Then charcoal briquettes are passed through a drying oven to cure or set it by drying out the water, so that the briquettes are strong enough to be used in the same burning apparatus as normal lump charcoal.
The roller press for briquetting must be well designed, strongly built and capable of agglomerating the mixtures of charcoal fines and binder sufficiently for it to be handed through the curing or drying process. As one of the most important parts of a roller press, the rollers must be qualified, especially for the raw materials with high hardness or corrosiveness, the roller will be more easy to wear. Therefore, the roller must be made from high-quality raw materials, such as Manganese alloy, Chromium-Molybdenum alloy, etc. As for a high-quality coal briquette machine, besides the roller is made from high-quality raw materials, it also must be heat treated. After heat treatment, the characteristics of roller will be evidently improved, including its hardness, toughness and abrasive resistance.
